Help your child learn to "be responsible" for their actions by discussing your child's behavior, with them when they, have behaved inappropriately. Ask your child the following questions:
1)How did your behavior affect others?
2)What would have been a better choice or way to handle the situation"
3) What do you need to do to fix the situation?
When providing a consequence for your child, make sure "the punishment fits the crime--" so that it becomes a leaning experience for your child. (i.e. writing a letter of apology to a friend when they have mistreated them.)
