Help your child to become a good listener by teaching her the following listening strategies:
1)Look at the person who is speaking.
2)Have a clear mind. Don't think about anything else but what your listening to.
3)Ask questions if you don't understand.
*Create your own family story by one member starting the story and then the other family members adding to the story.
*When your child has a task to complete encourage him to "stick with it"
until the job is done.
* When your child is doing homework, reduce the distractions by turning off the TV and/or stereo.
To encourage your child to complete a task or assignment in a timely manner, set a timer and challenge her to "beat the clock."
