*Have your child listen to a weather report and then have them pick-out their own clothing for the next day which will be appropriate for the weather expected.
*To help your child team the importance of paying attention to details play "I spy;
Describe an object in the room by giving hints about its size, shape, color, or location.
*Teach your child the importance of "checking things out' by making them the family "safety officer." Whenever everyone leaves the house have them check that things such as the lights, TV, stove, etc ... have been turned off and that all doors are locked.
*Children often will say or do things without thinking, about whether what they say or do is appropriate or the effect it will have on others, Help your child to learn to "Stop & 'Think" in order to make good choices.
*When your child does not use good judgment, take the time to discuss the situation to help them learn from the experience and to not make the same mistake or poor choice again
