| Dear Parents and Students, On behalf of the entire staff, I want to welcome you to William Bruce Elementary School. We hope this will be an exciting and valuable year of growth for each of you. The beginning of a new school year brings with it the promise of new challenges, opportunities and relationships, both educationally and socially. We look forward to helping you meet those challenges and opportunities, and we are looking forward to having a very productive year as well. These 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade years are a time of change for you. It is a physical and mental growing time. Your ideas will be changing as you grow and mature. It is a time to look at new ideas, to make decisions about yourself, and to look at the world in which you are living. You will be learning to make wise choices at school and at home. It is very important for our students to remember to come to school ready to listen, learn, and have fun. We realize that each student has unique talents, abilities and goals and it is our job to help you develop those talents, improve your abilities, and realize those goals. This is your job and part of your job is to listen to your teachers, do your best, and talk with your parents about what you are learning here every day. We are committed to the success of each student who attends William Bruce Elementary School. In order for this to occur, we do want your help and expect you to take an active role in working with us to provide the best possible educational opportunities for your child. The communications lines are open and we value your input and will do all we can to respond to your suggestions, comments, questions, and concerns.
